Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has launched the Saur Krishi Vahini scheme for the farmers of the state. Under this scheme, 7000 MW electricity will be generated from solar power by the year 2025 and solar power plants will be established in the state within the next 3 years. Farmers will be able to get electricity for agricultural irrigation at the rate of only Rs 3 per unit. Due to which farmers will be provided electricity during the day instead of at night. Budget fixed for Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana
The Maharashtra government has also set a budget of Rs 30,000 crore within the next 3 years for the Saur Krishi Vahini scheme.

Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana was started by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in 2017 and now the second version of this scheme MSKVY 2.0 has been launched by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Let us tell you – Maharashtra government will generate 7000 MW electricity from solar power by the year 2025 through this scheme. Which will directly benefit the farmers.
Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana Phase 2 has been started with the aim that by the end of year 2025, 30% agriculture feeders in each district of Maharashtra can be run with solar energy. Thousands of youths will be able to get jobs by generating solar energy.
Farmers will also be given rent by the government for installing solar panels.
Solar panels will be installed around 33/11 KV under the Saur Krishi Vahini scheme by the Maharashtra state government. Rent will also be provided to the farmer in whose field the state government will install solar panels. Out of which Maharashtra government will provide rent to the farmers at the rate of Rs.125000/- per hectare. For Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana, the Maharashtra government will produce 7000 MW of electricity from solar panels within 3 years, for which 28000 acres of land will be used by the Maharashtra government.
Key points of Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana
- Under the Saur Krishi Vahini scheme, a solar power plant with a capacity of 2 to 10 MW will be set up by the government in an area of 5 kilometers around the agricultural land.
- A minimum of 3 acres and a maximum of 50 acres of land will be selected to set up this power plant.
- The first priority in selection of role will be given to land owners within 5 km from 33/11 KV substation.
- To run the scheme smoothly, the Maharashtra government will also issue tenders. Through which the contractor will be selected.
- If a contractor wants to tender, he can register by visiting the e-tender portal.
- Under the Solar Krishi Vahini scheme, the Maharashtra government will provide a rent of Rs.30000/- per acre per year to the land owner if he wants to install a solar power plant on private land.
